Legacy Sessions

Death, like birth, is a sacred passage—an initiation into mystery, presence, and love in its purest form. These sessions are not just about photographs; they are about bearing witness. They are about preserving what is real, raw, and holy in the face of impermanence.

As a death doula and photographer, I move with tenderness and grounded compassion. I understand the vulnerability of this time—the grief, the beauty, the depth—and I bring a steady, gentle presence to hold what unfolds. This work is not rushed or shaped to fit an idea of how it should be. It is spacious, intuitive, and guided by the needs of you and your loved ones.

Whether you are seeking to document a loved one’s final days, create lasting images of connection between family members, honor a funeral or memorial ceremony, or simply hold space for the quiet intimacy of goodbye—Legacy Sessions are an offering of care, presence, and remembrance.

These images may become keepsakes for future generations, a way to share stories, or a private remembrance that lives quietly in your heart. They may help you grieve, integrate, or simply remember. However they are used, they are created with intention and love.

“My Mom and I didn’t always have an easy relationship, but she let me move her to Mexico with me for the last two and a half years of her life – an act of deep trust. I believe her thank you gift to me was allowing me to experience the exquisiteness and grace of those last years and of her dying process at the age of 104. Liza captured that process over several different sessions, all of which were deeply meaningful, supportive and enjoyable and left me with a record of what was, for me, my most precious time with my mother.”
